The Lee Lab investigates mechanisms of neurodegeneration using Drosophila models of Alzheimer's disease. Through genetic, molecular, and behavioral approaches, we are working to help identify the roles of both endogenous and exogenous factors that contribute to, or can help alleviate, neurodegenerative disease.
Alzheimer's Disease
Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is the 6th leading cause of death in the US affecting over 5 million people. By 2050, that number is expected to triple. Despite ongoing research, there is still no cure. For more information on AD click here.
